October 19th, 2019 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. EDNs Mental Health and Us workshop will explore factors affecting mental health in our community, give participants a general overview of common adult mental illnesses and, most importantly, how to provide support. Participants will learn strategies for reducing stress and creating a more inclusive work community that reduces the stigma surrounding mental illness. Register today!

Our Facilitators for this workshop will be Yacob Tekie and Shamm Petros.

Yacob is a Staff Psychologist/Let’s Talk Program Coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a doctoral psychology internship (residency) and post-doctoral fellowship at the Counseling and Psychological Services at the University of Pennsylvania, where he currently works as a staff psychologist and leading a new prevention, intervention, and consultation program called “Let’s Talk.”

Shamm has also served as Clinical Research Coordinator of the Racial Empowerment Collaborative (REC) at the University of Pennsylvania, leading the delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of a school-based cognitive-behavioral trauma intervention. Ms. Petros holds an M.S. Ed in Counseling and Mental Health Services, M.Phil. in Professional Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education.
